A feature-rich release delivering new automation capabilities, multi-stream monitoring, enhanced reporting, and significant reliability improvements. Sites gain event-driven automation triggers, operators can view multiple live streams simultaneously, and Watchful Go receives a full password reset flow.
Features
Alert Type Configuration
When setting up device auto-configuration, you can now choose between different alert types such as Motion and Analytics. This gives more granular control over which types of events each device generates.
Platform-Wide Reporting
A new reporting mode provides event breakdowns and analytics across the entire platform, not just individual tenants. A weekly events breakdown report per site provides at-a-glance visibility into event volumes and trends, alongside improved alert report formatting and charting.
Shareable EdgeLink Status Links
Administrators can now generate secure, shareable links that display the live status of an EdgeLink bridge. These links can be shared with external parties without requiring authentication, with optional expiry for time-limited access. The sharing interface is accessible directly from the EdgeLink device detail page.
Event-Driven Automation
NVR devices now support lifecycle event triggers, enabling automated actions when events are detected. For example, sites can configure lights to turn on automatically whenever a motion event occurs during armed hours.
Watchful Go Password Reset
Watchful Go users can now reset their passwords directly from the app through a dedicated forgot password page. The flow includes a branded email with clear instructions and handles shared credentials with the web portal gracefully.
Multi-Stream Viewer
Operators can now view multiple live streams simultaneously from a single page, making it easier to monitor several devices at once during active incidents or routine patrols.
Device Configuration Flow
A new device add flow supports external configuration options, streamlining the setup of third-party device integrations with a guided step-by-step process.
Improvements
- Faster alert loading — Multiple database query optimisations significantly speed up alert loading in the monitoring portal, including parallelised URL generation and combined query roundtrips.
- Faster image processing — Optimised image dimension checking to avoid loading full images into memory, improving webhook processing throughput.
- Improved message reliability — Refactored device messaging for more reliable MQTT communication, with safeguards to prevent orphaned messages during processing errors.
- EdgeLink device naming — "Connected devices" renamed to "Associated devices" in EdgeLink for clarity.
- URI input usability — URI input fields now include copy and open buttons with clear placeholder indicators for a smoother data entry experience.
- Phone number formatting — Improved phone number input with automatic NZ number formatting when dialling site contacts.
- Site user management — Added a site user option when adding users to sites, making user provisioning more intuitive.
- Improved loading states — Better loading indicators throughout the portal for a more responsive feel during data-heavy operations.
- Device cleanup on site archive — Devices are now automatically removed when archiving a site, keeping the device list clean and accurate.
- Smarter object detection — Detection confidence thresholds are now tuned separately for people and vehicles, reducing false positives for vehicle detections while maintaining sensitivity for people.
Fixes
- Cross-tenant monitoring access — Fixed multiple permission checks that blocked linked tenant administrators from managing monitoring companies and accessing alerts shared across tenants.
- Tenant role assignment — Fixed a bug where roles were not automatically assigned when adding users to a tenant, previously requiring manual database intervention.
- Tenant initialisation — Fixed role initialisation when setting up new tenants through the admin portal.
- Report calculations — Various fixes to report calculations and chart display for more accurate analytics output.
